Daily pre-start and toolbox meetings are an open forum where discussion of safety issues is encouraged.

In addition, our safety systems comply with AS/NZS 4801:2001.

The services of an external auditor SAI GLOBAL have been acquired to audit our Integrated Management System against the standards as part of our quality management.

The Bardrill Work, Health and Safety Policy is reviewed and updated annually and communicated to all employees, subcontractors, suppliers, visitors and client representatives through our various inductions, noticeboards, safety meetings and our ‘BIMS’ Integrated Management System.

Occupational Health, Safety and Welfare is a key component used to assess performance of all our Managers, Supervisors, Employees and Subcontractors. Measurable targets and objectives are established, maintained and reviewed, based on the nature, scale and impact on all our company’s activities, products and services.

Operational budgeting incorporates a safety component to ensure adequate funds are available to support development of ongoing safety initiatives, training, supervision and provision of safety equipment.

Management will continuously promote safety awareness through programs focused on recognition, evaluation and control of hazards. Employees and subcontractors will be encouraged to use the ‘HAZOB’ system to identify and eliminate hazards in the workplace.

The HSE Officers and Representatives hold a critical role in driving the Work, Health and Safety Policy improvement process. Our Safety Committee assists in focusing attention on key safety issues and initiatives. Direct lines of communication to management have been implemented and are regularly reviewed to ensure accountability and prompt response to all issues requiring immediate action.

Bardrill will continuously ensure all personnel have suitable training in the duties that they perform, and ensure that any safety inductions and supervision are adhered to and implemented.

All equipment and processes is continuously Risk Assessed, placed on our accessible register and reviewed periodically to ensure its safe operation, and that regular inspections of the equipment are conducted by Site Managers and HSE Officers to ensure compliance suitability.

Bardrill strives for ‘Zero Harm’ and believes that all incidents and injuries are preventable. We will strive to eliminate any occurrences through programs focused on developing a positive safety culture.

Bardrill provides and periodically reviews an effective injury management process through a rehabilitation program should an employee suffer injury. All resources will be employed to ensure that they can be integrated back into the workforce to resume normal duties wherever possible. Modified or alternate duties are considered and provided as part of that rehabilitation process.

All employees will be encouraged to participate in the development of safety initiatives via input of our key WHS systems such as Toolbox meetings, the Safety Committee, JHAs, Stepback and Safe Work Procedures.
